Our Motto & the Samity Emblem

The Samity seeks to enhance the image of Chittagonians, hence Bangladeshis, at all levels and make aware of their valuable contributions to the British Society. This is exemplified in the Samity’s motto, “Prosperity through Caring and Sharing”.

The Samity emblem identifies Chittagonians around the world. The lighthouse, the blue rivers and the lush green hills are typical of the Chittagong area.

How & When the UK Samity was established

The 'Chattagram Samity' was born in Calcutta, West Bengal, India with a view to meet the social, cultural and educational needs of Chittagonians living there. Following their success, the demand for such establishment was identified in other countries. Today the Samity is an organisation of Chittagonians united worldwide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.

In the United Kingdom the Samity, namely Chattagram Samity—UK, commenced officially with an outstanding Inaugural Ceremony on the 9th of July 1995.
